H&E assessment The GLP-induced histopathological changes in the thyroid gland were obtained during this research utilizing the basic diagnostic criteria according to AMA protocol: thyroid gland atrophy or hypertrophy (reduced or increased gland size in comparison to the control respectively), follicular cell hypertrophy (cells lining the follicle changed from low cuboidal to columnar or proportion (%) of cells displaying tall columnar change), follicular cell hyperplasia (crowding, stratification and/or papillary formation of single or many layers with % of tissue influenced) and colloid amount (homogeneous or abundant, lacy or scant), other changes (desquamation, inflammatory cell changes, vascularity, others)
