The first study, conducted in male mice, found that exenatide treatment did not significantly alter morphine-conditioned place preference, intravenous self-administration of the short-acting synthetic opioid remifentanil, morphine-induced locomotor activity, or the somatic signs of morphine withdrawal.163 Additionally, exenatide did not significantly affect the analgesic efficacy of morphine in the hot-plate test.163 Notably, remifentanil self-administration was comparable to or increased in mice lacking central nervous system GLP-1 receptors relative to wild-type controls.163 It is important to acknowledge that the association between GLP-1RAs and suicidal behavior has not been sufficiently studied
Emotional sensitivity Increased emotional responsiveness or mood fluctuations may occur as hippocampal connectivity changes
