The diagnosis of MASLD is based on the confirmed presence of hepatic steatosis, determined by imaging techniques or biopsy, in combination with cardiometabolic risk factors such as obesity (i.e., elevated body mass index BMI), hypertension, IR, or dyslipidemia, while excluding significant alcohol consumption [18]
